I've been shooting traditional black powder muzzleloaders for 20 or so years now but this is the first shotgun I've owned. Gotta pick up a couple of things but I've already got powder, primers etc.. We've got a shop in town that has a pretty good stock of traditional muzzleloading gear.
I know nothing about muzzleloaders so bare with my question. How do you convert a shotgun into a ML? Purchase a breech plug I assume and after that I'm lost?
Muzzleloading shotguns are manufactured as muzzleloading shotguns. It's not a conversion.

do you think you could load one barrel shot and the other a .62 cal ball?
I am not sure how that would work if there are chokes of any kind but you would be making essentially a musket in that case, I don't see why it would be a problem with a choke that is open enough but the accuracy could be interesting.Quote:
