As Fox mention with has been in place for some years now so is this now becoming an issue to 10/22 carbine users who have butler creek type banana magazines because Ruger came out with the charger pistol last year that can take the carbine mags?
If so this sucks!
Is the magazine designed for a rifle? If so then if marked for the rifle would be fine. This would be the same as the pistol magazines in 10rds being used for semi auto carbines.Quote:

You can legally use a center fire pistol magazine with a 10rd capacity in a carbine designed for it without it becoming illegal. It is the magazine that is prohibited, not what it is used in. If the magazine is a 50rd rimfire magazine for a rifle it would not make it illegal unless it is prescribed as a magazine for a pistol as well or just for a pistol.Quote:

I found the following on the wolverine supplies website...not sure how accurate it is but based on their interpretation the butler Creek mags are ok since they were designed and marketed for the rifle not the pistol....

I just read the report on the Calibre website and it appears this actually came into effect in 2013. I have an "in" with a firearms retailer and they haven't heard a thing other than the BX-25 mags manufactured for the pistol are prohibited. There will be a form letter coming out soon about this. It will be wise to fill it out and send it in or write your own and send it in. TC
