if I didn't bring something home from this trip it would have come to that. lol
it worked best to get deeper in the trails and find the 1st grouse then walk after that, we did see some atv grouse hunters with 22's but it was still more of a shotgun place
[QUOTE=FIVE grouse in less than two hours? WOW, I am so jealous!!![/QUOTE]
yeah more like 3 seasons and 2 hours, dam evil southern grouse.
LOL ... :D
I coined that phrase, if I may brag a little myself!!!
Evil Southern Grouse - A.K.A. ESG
Still, you got FIVE of them so I think they weren't exactly the "evil" type! :goodstuff:
Just read your post about your amazing day. Right on! Sometimes good luck favours the hunter!
Sash I really enjoyed reading about your adventure.
It had all my favourite characters.
A Dad and his boy,in the woods and getting some grouse.I liked it all
But the very best part is when I read ."we took the legs too"
They are truly the best part of the bird. How often I come across where people have stopped to clean their birds and find that they took only the breasts.
Anyone reading this that fall into that category. Please Please try the legs,it is a waste to leave them.
Fantastic.
Looks like a great time!
(Also jealous.)
And yes-agreed the legs are wee, but delicious. Always worth the (minimal) extra effort.
My favourite spot is scarce this year. My other go-to spot is pretty good! (But not "five-in-two-hours good!)
;)
Now that's living the dream! Can't wait to do the same with my kids.
