It might look stupid to you, but according to the Israeli Defense Force it works great for mopping up terrorists. It will replace the M4 over the next few years. It is also very reliable and accurate - it was featured on Discovery Channel's Future Weapons show, and they were shooting out to 300 yards.

If anyone knows of any other LEGAL, NON RESTRICTED, semi-auto rifle that allows you to fire TEN (10) rounds in rapid succession, then let me know. I think it would be great to have that capability if you have a whole family of coyotes coming your way

In all my experience with wolves and coyotes they have never come my way, as soon as they wind me or see me they are heading the other way.

As a courtesy, I have removed it. It was meant to refer to the the stigma these type of firearms have.

Spot and Stalk I do not believe in political correctness either I like to call things as I see them. I do however believe in common sense when posting on a public "HUNTING" forum and I am sure you can see how that comment could negatively impact this forum so I thank you(and apparently others do to). I think you are SOL on circumventing the criminal code exemtion for the magazine also because the LAR pistol mags were originally designed for AR 15 style rifles.

3. (1) Any cartridge magazine
(a) that is capable of containing more than five cartridges of the type for which the magazine was originally designed and that is designed or manufactured for use in
(i) a semi-automatic handgun that is not commonly available in Canada,
(ii) a semi-automatic firearm other than a semi-automatic handgun,

You would need to meet both criteria and my take is that the original design for the magazine was for AR 15 style weapons. The fact that a "pistol" (which isn't a pistol at all but rather a modified AR 15) can use the magazine is nullified due to the fact the original intended manufacturing reason for the mag was to fit a rifle.

A little repitition in there but oh well.
