Relax. I am being honest. I did make the one mistake on the hours of the course. I took the course if February and had a few beers when I typed that number. I am not trapping near my home at Bradford but my hunt camp up North.
My MNRF rep that I am dealing with actually told me the Fisher and Martin quota in my area is 1000 acres.
The two guys I was talking about are not professional agents but friends of that owner who happen to trap there because they don't have another area to do so. I am learning and gathering info to talk to them before going to MNRF.
To better word my question to confirm what I think the answer is: When is it right to trap out of season and for animals not given quota for? What are the notifying MNRF procedures when doing so?

By the sounds of it you may be fibbing on the hours of the course as well. 40 hour courses run over two weekends. Can't be done in a weekend.

Next time I post I will try not to get in so much detail or take more time with my working so that I don't give mis leading information.
The course was three Saturdays, three Sundays and two Wednesdays. This compressed it to three weeks.

Just to clarify about me, I am Pro and not Anti trapping and hunting. I like to follow the rules and expect the people around me to do the same since the rules are set up for a reason.

We trap beavers all year for the county.you have to have all the facts before you start accusing people of a crime.

quotas are not based on the furs you sell... its perfectly fine to keep your furs and use them for your own use... (make great mitts and hats) with the price of certain pelts its barely worth selling them after all of the work put into them... beaver are a classic case and are the lowest they've ever been....
there are a lot of people on here that scrutinize and look for any loop holes in any story... nothing better to do... you learn to ignore these special breeds lol
ministry does a lot of tests in the designated area... usually animal droppings to determine populations from what ive been informed... martin in a lot of areas are at an all time low because of the wolf population taking off so issuing a quota wouldn't make much sense until the population is replenished...
good luck on your line bud, my dad has had one for over 30 years and I am running it with him as much as possible... just being out there is satisfaction enough...
