They call it diversity - http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/11/03...-saturday.html
The different groups always fighting each other that you mention, are different groups [factions ] within the same religion, as some are more fanatical than others .
No different than what has been going on in Ireland , Irish Catholics fighting Irish Protestants, they are all Christians , but fighting one another, this is happening all over the world, all because of religion of one type or another .
Come on Joe, I do not dislike you an any shape one way or another, but these posts of yours should stop as they are getting VERY STALE !
First: People have agendas; not religions. There are plenty of good people in all religions who don't want anything more than a roof over their head, food in their belly and a comfortable bed to sleep in at night in America. A bunch of yahoos don't speak for any certain religion don't speak for that religion the same way you don't speak for Christianity.
Second: Diversity makes a society stronger; not weaker. Looking back in history at every society which couldn't socially adapt and they all crumbled because they lacked the capacity to change because the thought of change was stifled (and in some cases punishable by death). Having a society which looked alike, thought alike, and acted alike didn't work for Roman, the British Empire, 1940's Germany, Russia through the cold war and basically the entire evolution of human society. If you look at the most successful countries in the world, they are countries which enjoy a diverse society. The G7 countries (most successful countries of the world) are all made up of countries which allow their citizens the freedom to look they way they want to look, believe what they want to believe and act the way they want to act (within their laws).
With your logic, the US would never have been a country because the only immigrants allowed into the US when it was a British colony would have been loyalists to the British crown, not the "radicals" who sought to overthrow the King and make a fair county for everyone. The Statue of Liberty is synonymous with the phrase "Give me your tired, your poor/Your huddled masses yearning to breath free". There aren't any conditions about where people are from in that phrase. You seem not to care about how difficult it is for a person to have to move to a different part of the world where they have not social network, no friends, possibly no family or even no means to support themselves. Perhaps you should try a smidgen of Christian values you so desperately think are lacking in today's world to have some damned compassion for people who are trying to make a better lives for themselves.
They Dylhbringer where did you get the idea that I don't care or realize the difficulty that immigrants have when they locate in a different country - don't put things in my mouth - I still say that letting people into a country that have very little in common with that country is not good for the country - the G7 countries are not financially about over countries because they let immigrants into their countries that's for sure - and jaycee if my posts are getting stale be free not to read them but if you don't you are foregoing a chance to learn something - I'm just trying to educate people because so many just go along with what is handed to them and never really examine the issue - it's called political correctness - don't say or think anything that doesn't line up with the progressives - well I'll tell you something - you wait and see that happens because of all this BS that is being peddled - some day you'll look back - after I'm gone - and think - you know that guy JoePa that used to be on that OOD forum was right after all - you take care -

I got the idea from the tone of your general posts. You seem to think the people coming in are the problem. Immigrants want to live in your country. The majority of them are looking for a life better than what they have where they come from. Pinning the woes of your country on the people who want to make a better life than what they have is cowardly.
You have a holiday coming up celebrating the fact that way back in your history the people living here welcomed immigrants. Take a day to think on that.
I am not against immigrants - I think they should have a lot in common with the people who inhabit the country they are relocating to -
So you think diversity to good - well I got this guy who wants to move to Canada with his family - he has 6 wives, 15 kids, practices witchcraft, can't speak French or English, is a communist, is not educated, has HIV, doesn't like to work, is from some country in the middle East and thinks his culture is superior to others - since he has so much diversity in one package we are going to send a boat load of guys like him to Canada each year - that should make Canada much stronger
After WW1Germany was on its back - a leader came along and united the country and it became a world power - this was possible because the people were like minded in many ways - unfortunately the leader was evil and marched the country to destruction
And I think you do. You want people immigrating into your country which have alot in common with the American people. Guess what, the ones who you want are already living there or are living in countries like America.
Your example would be ineligible for immigration into Canada because he has more than one wife and has HIV.
Using the rise of Nazi power to try to prove your point is stupid and actually makes a point in favour of diversity. If everyone didn't think alike in Germany after WW1, Hilter doesn't rise to power.
I think if you look at history it us a problem when immigrants do not conform to their new country. I look back in history shows us the Irish the Dutch the Russians the Chinese all had their own little communities. They worked hard built their businesses and did well the new immigrants coming today don't want blend in they seem to want to hold on to their culture and not assimilate. If you look at the Amish Mennonites they live their own way of life and don't bother anybody never a problem.
