Finally, for sports shooters and hunters that came to Canada as adults, this bill opens an opportunity for the CFP to stop issuing or renewing licenses on the basis of requiring lifetime medical history. If you were not born in Canada, what happens? Is your license denied because history before your immigration is not available? Is it delayed? If so, and it is delayed beyond the grace period will you be given reprieve from the guns you now illegally possess?

I would suggest that you take the time to read the bill in its entirety instead of repeating what you are told by others.

I bought my first gun after gun were supposed to be all banned by the Liberal government. I agree with many of our firearms laws in Canada, not everyone should be allowed to have a gun, period.

The Swiss Arms and CZ rifles actually were mis-represented when they came into Canada, they had some based on full auto receivers that could easily be turned back into full auto firearms, they should have never been legal based on the laws of the time, not anything that was changed.

I have been hearing this crap for 20 years, every time I turn around people like you are throwing your arms up in the air telling me that they are taking all my guns away. Guess what, it has not happened yet and the people speak when the elections happen. This Bill did very little other than reverse what Harper did when he was in last, this will flip flop for a long time.

The all mighty Trudeau is a friend of the indiginous, he will not be taking their guns away or he will become evil to them, they use semi autos and lots of them. I voice my opinion on firearms laws but 15 posts in and losing a pile of posts on how everything you have is being stolen by the government, the foil hat must be hurting.

The reference number is so the seller can prove he called and verified the purchaser’s licence as valid.

The bill is linked below for those that want to read it and understand it for themselves. My post here is merely to make those that are not aware of the petition know that there is an option available to voice up if they agree that this bill does not target criminals, increases burden on law abiding gun owners and leaves numerous loopholes through which the RCMP will now once again have carte blanche to reclassify guns without parliamentary oversight or accountability.

I may not post frequently on this forum so I must be new here... Right...

Yes, not everyone should own guns. This bill however, leaves many ambiguities that can be interpreted however the RCMP deems and used against firearms owners... Anyway, I won't waste more time arguing with you. You are free to sign or not. You are free to continue giving up inches until they start targeting firearms that actually affect you meanwhile others are losing thousands of dollars worth of property bought and used without incident. Throw some under the bus because yours are OK. Right. This selfish, self centered mindset is specifically what people like Wendy & Heidi prey on and use to chip away at it all. In your 20yrs you clearly were not one of the many Canadians that had other firearms put into 12.x categories that are now safe queens unable to be used for hunting.

However, I will again say GO READ the bill... And FYI, unless you are indigenous and can be covered by treaty rights, you would be wise to not rely on such a premise.

PS: I hope you realize that if you own an SKS or M14 regardless of the receiver used it is "easily converted to automatic"... Actuy, anything is easily converted when you have the RCMPs budget, and no clear definition in law what easily converted means.

Talking about the C-71 consultations ... Groups associated with Cuklier consulted twice ... including Ryerson Diversity etc....

It seems the Liberal government is running sham consultations for its latest gun control law, Bill C-71.

According to comments made to TheGunBlog.ca, at least four of the pro-gun lobby groups listed as having been consulted while the Liberals developed the new law, deny taking part in any official consultations.
And Alison de Groot of the Canadian Sporting Arms and Ammunition Association said they were specifically shut out of meetings they had requested with public safety staff.

If we remove the four groups who deny being formally consulted by the Liberals on C-71, only five of the 53 stakeholders were pro gun.
