Suddenly the environment is a concern?
The hysterics are in a state of desperate panic in response to the pending legalization of a product that is readily available already and consumed by millions of people in this country. Other jurisdictions have successfully legalized marijuana without collapse of their societies, wells drying up or widespread carnage on the highways. Canada can be expected to do the same.
I pulled this from another site; Report on Water Usage-Marijuana.
If one were allowed to grow 400 plants per acre using 900 gal per plant it would need 360,000 gal per acre per season or 1.1 acre feet water.
I have now problem with water usage for foodstuffs, meat , vegetables or fruit, as they all contain nutrients to sustain life.
Nothing can live without water, using it to grow cannabis is not my idea of using water wisely.
Some will use cannabis for medical reasons , but how many will use it for recreational purposes ?
Where does the water go?
Calling the kettle black.

I don't waste it. I just rent it for awhile, and then water the trees.
Making beer seems a more effective use of water then growing pot. With pot you only use the water once, with beer it gets used three times.
1) make beer
2) quench my thirst with the beer
3) water the grass, trees and bushes.
The same liter of water gets used three times.
LOL
The sky is falling!
