Wednesday morning dragged my popup blind out, set it up for the second time ever and hung out for a few hours giving some grunts and bleats every so often. Then all of a sudden I hear and see a buck coming in about 50 yards out. Super excited...I grab my gun, aim, wait a few seconds for it to clear a couple trees, give a soft grunt and he stops and BANG...He runs for a bit into a thicket, then I see him start to come back towards me a little bit and slowly. Then I lose him in the thicket so I wait for about half an hour as about 15 turkeys wander through. I kept waiting because I thought if I hit him but didn't kill him & I spook the turkeys then they spook him this is going to be bad so wait a few min for turkeys to disperse and there he is laying about 75 yards from where I shot him. I was so pumped!! One of the best moments I've had in a long time!!
