You can purchase additional deer seals for each season, in certain areas, if you have an additional tag it will say which season, and you will know already which season as the hunt code you entered indicated this. Your Deer License, as stated is for BUC anywhere in Ontario, if you entered the doe draw and where successful then that seal will be good for BUC or doe, in the WMU indicated during, in this case BOW only. IF you enter the controlled hunt, and you receive validation for Antlered or Antlerless, then you can harvest either or. The controlled validation is NOT a seal, and you DO NOT attach this to your deer, it is basically a License to hunt during that particular season. If you should happen to be stopped by the mnr, be prepared to show them that you do in fact have the correct validation clearly stating antlered or antlerless...if your deer seal, states antlered or antlerless BOW only, and your validation does not state this, and you harvest a doe, your in trouble and lose the deer.
People get confused with tags and seals and it's understandable. As the two terms are interchanged so much when the controlled specifically states that it is a validation tag people think it's another seal. Just wait until next year when you don't have to "seal" the deer but still have to notch out the paper seal you have to carry. there will be lots of citations over that one. TC
The antlerless tag and seal you won for bow season determines that you can harvest either a buck OR a doe. One deer only.
The validation tag for the controlled hunt says you are allowed out in the woods this week deer hunting. It is for you, not your deer.
So to summarize, you can be out in the woods for the controlled hunt this week and harvest one deer, either anterless or antlered.
Good luck!!!!
