I also carry mine in a deep left pocket with the antenna sticking out. Down side it interferes with getting the rifle up. I haven't found the perfect vest yet. Well found one but it was sold at Gander Mountain.
I frequently have a lanyard on it also. I also had a Gizzmo but it was bulky.
I have lost mine for several days deep in the woods, quite an ordeal to find it(Astro). Too my knowledge my Alpha can now be paired with others so I can find it provided the batteries still work. In summer I bought a Garmin pouch that fits onto My belt, wear it with no problem.
At my age the biggest problem is eye sight, I need my reading glasses also. LOL

Yes, you can track other units with the Alpha. Its great for keeping tabs on where everyone is, which adds to safety.
