It is quite the eye opener , the number of deer that you see driving along I- 69 in Michigan.
I guess they don't have the same Hunter pressure we have here that have driven our Deer to be nocturnal..HaHa....
Actually where I was driving around, not just on that " 150 deer/25 km afternoon"but was "lucky"enough to spend there lately around 8 days on 4 different occasions.Any road i was driving on ,there was at least ONE deer blind, stand, hut, shack visible ,each and every 1- 2km. The hunting pressure seems enormous.Yet their deer seems a whole lot less skittish then"ours".
On two occasions i slowed, turned, came back to enjoy the view-the herd was 50-70 yards from me,and would barely bother with my staring at them from a stopped vehicle.
MikePal-i guess Your HaHa ending says what you meant.........
Regardless that there still hasn't been a real break in the cold weather recently, the deer may be moving out of their yard up areas. I went out to the farm last evening and counted 27 travelling past one of my stands.
Our daughter was over last night and she said that while visiting a friend on Fri. p.m. they counted approximately 70, yes 70 deer in a field across from her friends place this was due east of Woodstock several miles.
Me too... Friday. late afternoon early evening seen a ton of deer..... Never seen so many in such a short period of time.... Maybe seen 50-60 in about a half dozen fields.... Nice to see so many making it through the winter. Mind you, besides the cold, snow depth was never a concern my way...
