ANOTHER deer tag question

Definitely what I have to do now Mike or else do the phone-in if I can get one of those real people things they hide in a cubicle somewhere but I don't really think of myself as too challenged, at least computer-wise.
Either way, it is 1 more hour of my life I am going to lose waiting in line and driving to and from a store wasting gas.
I have done my tags online for a few years now with no issues. This new system is not as user friendly as the old one, has some gremlins that still have to be worked out, and is not as easy to navigate as the old one. Change is supposed to make it easier, not more frustrating.

In-person license purchases are not necessarily smooth either. My son bought his turkey license at a Service Ontario counter a couple weeks ago. At that time he was handed a turkey tag and a receipt that read "This is not a hunting license". He was not given a License Summary.

It wasn't until last night that he realized that the License Summary is in fact the hunting license and must be carried. He was able to create an account on the MNRF's website and print a copy of his license summary.

Clearly there are ongoing bumps along the way with this new system. Looks like we are living the beta version.

Ninepointer are you saying if you make your purchase at Service Ontario you still need to go on line create an account so you can print your licence ?

No, I don't think so. I think that in my son's case the staff person at Service Ontario simply forgot to give him the License Summary page.

I agree, change IS supposed to be for the better, but it seems like it rarely is.

Look at it this way, you won’t be disappointed if you lower your expectations to rock bottom and the actual experience is a little above that.

And don’t forget to file your taxes !

That system is so fkct ,I can't get it to accept my password. When I get to ask for a new password,it just says "password change e-mail sent" and then crickets,no e-mail in the inbox,junk file or bugger all. Service Ontario it is.

OK,so,here's how I fixed the issue. After calling the 1-800 number and waiting for 20 minutes,it seems the problem is with the Google Chrome browser. I switched to MS Edge and it worked like a charm. It was necessary to re-register,but,I now have a Turkey license and tag in my hot little hand. Let the games begin.
