Mobb man, after this year's shotgun hunt, nothing feels safe to me anymore. I literally had groups and tresspassers pissing through my backwoods and fields where only one other hunter has permission for the next 3 farms. behind me is a no go for hunters as well. friends who are staying here said they literally heard these cowards reloading but they wouldn't show their faces and hid. when confronted, no names given and they just said they "had permission" and then hightailed it right after the confrontation.

BEST advice - Practical - Migratory bird hunting is the exception to the rule. Not mandated by law so you're good to go no orange shouldn't be a safety concern as out in the middle of the field, hunting a beaver pond where you have to trudge through forest well might want to take along your orange for visablity

Yep. During an open gun deer season small game hunters must also wear orange!

I think he meant during a bow season for deer you don’t have to wear orange to small game.

I usually do when on public land and both my clubs require it on their land.

FYI coyotes DO see it and will bust you.

No hunter orange needed, it specifically says that with respect to waterfowl hunters.

Remember though that you are limited to BBB steel or BB bismuth if you are hunting during an open gun season. It says this for small game hunting but the regulations specify no hunter orange for waterfowl but they do not specify any difference for waterfowl in this case, so unless your local CO says you are ok to use it you would probably be safer to keep the T and F steel at home for the time a big game gun season is on, not that many people use that stuff anymore.

Best of luck, remember to be visible if you see other hunters come around, better to bust a flock than to get shot.

Nice thing( only nice thing) about SW Ontario is the lack of deer rifle seasons.

What? It’s shotgun this week in my WMU (Dufferin) so orange IS required. Next WMU north is uncontrolled this week and AFAIK is all firearms including rifles.

Dufferin has shotgun as does WMU's is SW Ontario, but it's " NICE " that there are no RIFLE seasons. Most wooded areas are very small. Way too small for rifles.

You want to be squirrel hunting on the one side of a piece of land, wondering if there is a deer hunter with a rifle only 800 to 1000 yards away? Nice to not have Rifle seasons around here.
