Hunted Long Point on Monday. Lots of ice due to Friday cold snap. Could not get in to grass to hide boats so stuck out 6’ from edge. What few birds were around usually flared away. Seemed only mergansers and coots left and with ice concerns agreed with guides to cancel Tuesday hunt. Looks like Friday cold snap pushed most ducks south.
Its finally starting to get good!

I'd love to go out tomorrow and I'll look around to night for something, But everything froze over the last 2+ weeks most birds have moved on. Must have seen 500 in a field near waterloo yesturday though.

We had a migrating flock pass over one of our fields last week. Ive never seen so many birds at one time. Too bad we only got 2.
They didnt like our treeline decoys but we had no other choice!

Our local lake ice around the blinds is getting too thick to break with a paddle. Darlington PP was closed last week. Some of the field hunters are still active, but,it would be damn cold laying in the snow. This years WF season may come to an early end. After the M/L one week season,it'll be time to get the rifles and coyote calls dusted off.
Saturday November 23rd ; The Unit had 20 cars in the Line Up plus Reservations plus guys on the Re-Rent List . Ice is all gone now but a lot of ducks went with it but there should still be some action. I had the honour of hunting the Turkey Point Club last Monday and my guide said there was thousands of ducks before the freeze up but we only saw hundreds that day.
Remember... it's not over until the fat lady sings .
Too cold for me...........
