Buying Bullets and brass for reloading from the US

Shotgun parts are not in ITAR, it is a different section, there is actually no amount you can bring in with a permit, so all of those wads could get you in a lot of trouble.

ITAR still restricts gun parts and ammunition components but some things there are amounts you are allowed, gun stocks is one, that is why Boyd's will ship a maximum dollar value to Canada.

We cross a lot. It’s not uncommon to see vehicles being inspected between the toll gates and the bridge, before getting into Canada.....not worth the risk..

I’ve heard stories of US border officers checking gun shops, taking down Ontario licence plates. They checked them before getting back into Ontario. Most were bringing back reloading components...

Airgun pellets and air guns are safe but their scopes may not be. Muzzle loaders they do not care about, but a plastic shotgun wad they do. Weird rules but I would rather not end up in jail or financial difficulty for a few bucks saved.

I thought Trump was going to allow Canadians to buy firearms and ammo again.

Oh for the days when I could cross the border and bring back ammo.

I remember when I was 18 and in Calais Main, I asked at the hardware store what I needed as a Canadian to buy a gun. His response "Money"

He has not done it.

On top of that ITAR does not cover shotgun parts, there are 2 things that need to be changed or cancelled for total freedom there.

If you have a US hunting License you can still buy and possess guns and ammunition in the states as a canadian. The only problem exists if your license expires or you try to bring it home with you.

Only if you are a US resident. Non-immigrant aliens must have a Form 6 to possess a firearm, plus a hunting licence or invitation to a shooting event. We still can’t buy firearms or ammo and export them from the US.
We can however, cross the States back into Canada without a Form 6 or a hunting licence, as long as you don’t hunt along the way...

The ATF Form 6 is for the temporary importation of a firearm. I can go to an outfitter and rent a firearm during my guided hunt. During my time hunting I am legally in possession of a firearm, and I can buy and possess ammo as well.

It was not imported and it will not be exported.

Canadians can export firearms and ammo from the US. You require a permit, and it must be shipped to a Licensed Canadian Firearms dealer that also has a US FFL( US Federal Firearms License) in Canada. Once it is received by the Canadian Dealer, you can pick it up or have it shipped to you.

It can be done, but it's expensive.
