Great report and good job, thanx for sharing
Congrats. Great read. Nice Bears.
The report and pics made my day. We gave bear hunting a try a few years ago in the fall. Shot some modest boars, never saw anything large. Glad to see you had such luck. Shootable bears almost every sit is pretty awesome. It speaks to your scouting and baiting. Congrats on a job well done.
I enjoyed reading your amazing hunt , congratulations to all !!
Those are awesome Bears. What weight are your recurves set at?
I'm shooting a 52# @ 28" Bob Lee
Terry was using his 50# @ 28" Bear Kodiak when he killed the big one. I think he draws about 29" so it's likely around 53lbs
And Max is pulling high 50's with his Saratoga longbow. It's 53@28 but i think he's a 30" draw so he's likely closer to 60.
Bow legal minimum for bear in Ontario is 48.5"@27.6". That rule is nonsense for traditional archery but the MNR brushed me off when I tried to explain it to them. For example, If you're a tall individual who pulls 30" on a 45@28 bow, making you draw weight over 50lbs, you are ILLEGAL according to the current regulations. They only look at the numbers on the bow. Inversely, if you are a short fellow only pulling 26". You can legally shoot a 50@28 bow even though you are only really pulling 43-44lbs at your draw length.
