About 10 years ago we had a rash of squirrels at our camp so I started shooting them with the .22. I find they cause far more damage than mice but aren't as dirty. Anyway, I started shooting the things and counting carcasses at the same time. I was up to 55 from November to late January when I quit counting. My neighbor across the lake shot 35 the same season.
There was 2 when I got at the camp last night. 1 this morning. I just caught 2 more while drinking coffee. Crazy.
My garage is filled crickets and even a few in the house basement. Never seen so many crickets.
We seem to have an abundance of crickets also this year. Every year is different, some years it’s earwigs, sometimes the little snails, one year we had a huge outbreak of the brown & white striped spiders,Quote:

Not noticing mice this year but definitely an increase in snakes. Huge garters and the occasional milk snake. Maybe that explains the lack of mice. LOL.
Two weeks ago I wiped out a family of 8 all within a 3 day period. Lots of crickets and grasshoppers. Usual amount of squirrels, bunnies and chipmunks.
Environment is getting cleaner:thumbup:more critters...........:D...........maybe.
Maybe just a circle of life.

I can also relate to others on the earwigs, disgusting buggers are thick. I hate em, im not squeamish at all but I can't stand earwigs! I think they remind me of Toronto, all piled up on top of each other crapping on the one below.....
