For lines that have a large difference in diameter, I use the Albright knot.

I purchased a new Okuma line counter reel. I put on 40 lb braid and I matched the same size leader of floro and it matched in size at 12 lb leader. Works great for me.

I'm using 40lb Spider Wire Stealth Braid with a Spider Wire EZ Fluoro leader - seems to work well for me on my baitcasters and spinning rod set-up's
Crazy Alberto knot is the one that I use to join a fluoro leader to braid main line! You don't have to match line strengths as fluoro & braid even if they are rated the same, wouldn't match up because of the stretch factor. Set you drag for your weakest link! Sunline FC Leader BTW!
Hey, not trying to be cheeky here, but don't any of you guys use a micro swivel? It is almost essential if crankbaiting to prevent line twist. Tie good knots, wet them before you tighten them, and they have never failed me. I use them ALL the time whether chucking cranks, spoons, or spinners for salmon/steelhead or drift fishing. No problems and crap never gets stuck on them. Just get good quality ones that have high lb test rating.
I've been using high speed bead chain swivels for a few years now. Line twist never happens anymore. Doesn't matter if I'm trolling, jigging or drop shotting. I use a polymer on the braid main line and a figure eight on the flouro. all my leaders are around 4 feet. Stealth is important to me. I tie everything direct, except for the swivel of course. Never had an issue with the swivel catching. I use spinning only.
