New COVID strain, 70% easier to spread.

This book was brought to my attention a week or two ago. I plan to read it next week.

Some might argue, it's about Trump and autocratic regimes. Some might argue its very much what we are seeing these days. Put it into context of some of the above.

Pakistan and Turkey already had screening in place in February. Questionaire and temperature checks.
Canada is no longer a first world country.

The WHO says there is nothing to worry about and that it's completely normal.

My neighbour came back from Kenya near the end of February or early March .... every little airport there had screening, but none when he got back to Canada and it sounds like there still isn't any. At work I was talking to someone and they said right now to visit her mom who is having some health problems in China they have to be tested 2 days before, screened before and after, 2 weeks quarantine then she could fly in country to see her mom.

The Rebel was interviewing people in March I remember and they said that all the airports in Pakistan and other countries had screening before and on arrival... what is wrong with the Canadian health care ...

My brother- in - law works for the W.H.O and Health Canada.
He says there is plenty to worry about.
As it is more contagious , this variant virus(caused by a mutation) will hit younger people more than it has , particularly as they have not been prone to following health measures.
Hospital care is a big worry .
In London for example, the biggest hospital is at 82% capacity in ICU.

This is probably 8th major mutation of the virus, the Next Strain was tracking 6 a few months ago and I saw on one other med company pages they are now tracking 8 mutations. V1 to V6 (also called 19A, 19B, 20A, 20B and 20C) had a transmission rate of 1.1 and the new one is running about 1.5 so significantly higher but how huge and there is no evidence of it being anything different other than easier to spread but even the ones they already were tracking the differences were TBD.

Healthcare professionals saying it is at 100% has been ongoing since even before the big McGuinty/Wynne cuts, hence the term hallway care (or something like that).
