The GTA currently has 1 or 2 more seats than it should. Not enough to quibble about. The problem is First Past the Post. Where votes don't matter near as much as seats. Where all you need is to win the riding. So if riding A has 100 voters.
35 dont vote ( about average, )
29 vote C ( about 44%)
33 vote L ( about 50%)
03 vote NDP ( about 4%)

the Seat goes to the libs. And that's all that matters. Noone elses vote counts or matters. Hence why Apathy is so bad, polarization is getting worse, why Gas plants in Miss get cancelled, why Spring bear hunts get cancelled and why Unions get whatever they want (Ask Drummond) and on and on and on and on and on.....

As it stands, and anyone that wants to try and deny this is welcome to come back to earth anytime they like.
Politics, especially in Ontario is all about kissing the backsides of the Unions and GTA. ( and just who exactly is whinning for restrictions).......

Open your eyes and figure why Ford rushed to Oshawa when GM closed, or bailed right fast on pulling some money from French language schools, and doesnt have the stones to do what he should have about Covid. But is doing enough to keep them happy.

Oshawa has 126,000 voters in their riding. Timmins has 41,000. Both get one seat. That makes one vote in Timmins worth 3 times what the same vote in Oshawa is worth. Is that fair ?

People from Oshawa would say "no",but,people in Timmins would definitely say "yes". "First-past-the-post" was adopted,so, electors in marginalized areas would have a vote,too,without feeling their votes didn't count. The only alternative is a "one person,one vote" system as in the US,but,that would mean an Electoral College system would need to be used. Six of one,a half dozen of the other.

The electoral college in a round about way, acts almost like FPtP.

167,000 voters between Osh and Timmins. Maybe 46% voted C and maybe 40% L and 24% NDP ( the NDP is strong in the North because they most of all feel as though don't exist south of cottage country). FPtP: 2 seats go to the Cons and 106,000 people have no voice.

Currently.
In and around Timmins theres only 275 Cases ( cant find, so I assume very few hospitlizations)
In the Kawartha lakes there's a whopping 53 cases.
Is it fair they are closed? bearing the brunt of lockdowns because 141,000 can't get their act together? And Fords too afraid to lower the hammer on them?

Is it fair Wynne stuck her head in the sand as did the voters throughout 2008-2010 and could find $75,000,000 for wine sippers in NoTL but nothing for small towns being crushed by job losses and lost revenue? Hydro??? And on and on and on and on and on and on and on....

Is what's been happening in Alberta for the past 9 years "fair", while people in Ontario and that seat rich region sip mocha lattes without a care? "Fair"?

Is it fair to our children or Grandchildren that will never be able to afford houses because, that what matters are those regions...and as a result.

When was the last time MSM really spent much effort on issues outside the GTA....Say like drinking water on reservations. But 141,000 mocha latte sippers in the Shwa...

The left are all about virtue signalling and pretending to care about others.
Voting patterns, MSM and bias paint an entirely different picture. And like not learning from history.

I don't want that person with 20 votes to have as much say in how the province is run, as the MPP with 100,000. I feel most would agree.

To be open minded, people in the far north don't agree with people in the most southern cities deciding how those in the north should live.

Absolutely. I do agree.But we do live in a democracy, wherein numbers (votes) get to decide, through their MPP s, on what course of action the sitting government takes.unfortunately because of the inequities in riding voters, some people’s votes are worth more than others. As it stands the far north has more power than their numbers warrant. I know we have to include them at the table.The areas around the GTA ( Durham, Kawartha Lakes) are getting screwed because their population is also going up because of the ‘exodus ‘,but their ‘ seats ‘ are not increasing , as their population grows. Like the GTA. When Toronto gets a million more people over the next 10-12 years are they going to get 10 more seats? Or maybe 20 MPPs for Timmons , if a million shows up in Timmons?

Not worry Canada man. I'm sure if the US annexed Canada, despite our similarities, we are vastly different and people would get it then. Just imagine 150 million voters voting for open carry, loose GC. I'm sure people would begin to appreciate that regional differences matter and they'd sing different tunes then. Unfortunately, people in the GTA rarely think about others, ( list examples.....) or try to imagine what's it like to see things from anyone else's PoV. It's a large reason why I left the city, and grew to loathe it back around 2010. The world revolves around it.

Dead horse, and until the proverbial hits the fan. And a Trump wins here ( similiar dynamics there) , or big chunks storm the parliament buildings, and the polarization, growing division largely caused by them. . The problem isn't 100k people here, and 20 there. Its that the 100k never think about anyone else. That and FPtP. If something more a long the lines porportional...Where regional things virtually don't matter at all. Everyones vote counts equally...

Translation. The denser the population, the more diverse the vote, the more "unjust" FPtP because so many votes end up being "meaningless".
