Pit Bulls

I also believe that any dog, like any person, can be dangerous. My border collie/ shepherd looks cute and friendly but he has a terrible demeanor with strangers and has bitten before. He now wears a muzzle or is segregated when he can't be in complete control. I think a lot of owners either don't have the patience or maybe the desire to pay attention to their animal and either correct bad behavior or learn why it occurs.

I see a ton of dogs who have almost no recall and completely ignore commands, yet they are usually off leash in public forests or even parks.

There are people who like to have big, vicious and mean dogs so they can intimate other people - it makes them feel bigger - it's almost like having a gun if the dog will attack on command - one thing having a dog is a lot of work if you take good care of it - over the years I've had a lot of dogs and cleaned up a of poop - not anymore - got a cat and she is no work at all -

Aren't cats just cannon fodder for dogs? Every dog I've ever owned has had a hate on for cats and that's without teaching them.

The loophole in the legislation is that not all breed variants are covered,the term "pit bull" being a generic term. Most of the people I've had conversations with all say their muttley is a mixed breed that doesn't qualify. It may be BS,but,in order to start legal proceedings,the law must first establish that the dog is,in fact,pure breed.

Dogs aren't born barking idiots or biters, those issues are man made.

So what you are saying is that they would have to ban the pitty and its 1500 variants? Heh[emoji1787]

Dogs are animals, no animal can be fully trusted. It's how you deal with them that makes the difference. Any animal can be taught to be nasty toward a human most of it is the outcome of fear. Unfortunately I had to agree with the ban on the dogs and believe the list should be larger simply due to the lack of intelligence by 90% of the owners.

Treat a dog like a millennial, they all have their triggers.

Yep.
Pit Bull is not a breed. It’s name for a handful of breeds. American Bulldogs. Staffordshire Terriers and a few others.

Could be mistaken but I think in the end. It’s up to a vet to declare the dog a “pit Bull”. At which point it’s subject.,solution don’t have a vet examine it.

I agree but I think a big problem with some of these pitbulls has to do with inbreeding.
