Since the beginning of time lol.
People are still blaming the past government for today's mess that happened decades ago lol.
It's easier to just blame someone else .

"The White Paper on Indian Affairs and Northern Development" was a brilliantly written document which outlined in glaring detail the shortcomings of indigenous relations in Canada. It was written by The Right Honorable Jean Chretien when he was Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development in the Trudeau Cabinet. It was promptly quashed and hidden for decades. It's more accurate, now, than it was then. I'd dearly like to confront Trudeau II with this just to watch him squirm with his politically correct puckered butthole..
No problem Outback. I understand the sorry game to an extent, but why is it just us, over and over and over...sorry....sorry....sorry..... he'll, they still to this day bury woman up to they're shoulders and throw rocks at they're heads til they're dead in some parts of the world....the human race has been violent and evil since day one.....yet every day....we're sooorrrryyy....just getting tired of the same old photo ops apologies....rant over....
"Trudeau executed a U-turn and, in the Constitution Act, 1982, the existing treaty rights of the Aboriginal peoples of Canada were “recognized and affirmed.”
But up until a few supreme court justices had a few words with him, Trudeau was prepared to give the indigenous people nothing.

What appears to have been the case, from a set of historical volumes which I chance to pick up at a yard sale, was that the indigenous people had an attitude problem when it came to the European colonists work ethic. The indigenous were content to simply survive on hunting and gathering. Whereas the colonists sought to clear the forest, build cabins and towns, till the soil, plain crops, raise livestock and make profits. The indigenous people had the view that the colonist must be crazy to work their backsides off, when nature could provide all that was necessary. How were you going work such people into any national plan, if they didn’t want to work in your interest. The solution was to modify the attitude of the race, by targeting its youth. Isolate them from their indigenous roots and school them in the colonial mind set. It wasn’t a case of wiping the race out, that would have been a physical genocide. The plan was to assimilated the race by indoctrinating the youth, and simply allow the adults to eventually die off. Great plan, however somewhere along the line it got badly mishandled. In the end, there was something of a genocide, an abusive and cultural genocide. of the youth. . . .

Genocide was pretty usual in the old day's, I consider the English to have been the worse nation for this, look at the Highland clearances or Irish potato famine, both deliberate attempts to wipe out local populations to steal the land.
