Why on earth are you getting in your vehicle with that clothing on??
Do what I do - use an outer layer sprayed with the spray, keep it tied in a garbage bag, just put it on when you get out of your vehicle to hunt, and reseal it in the bag when you get back to your vehicle. I have a 2-piece camo suit that I wear every hunt, sprayed with it.
Doing it the way you do, its no wonder you cant stand the smell - you are wearing it in enclosed spaces, which would drive anyone up the wall with the odour!!

When mixing check your percentages and compare to the Sawyer, but many of the spider sprays use peremethrin too. The Sawyer clothing spray is .5% so best to try and match that and if you can get it I would say get the horse version and dilute would be better by the way. Their page doesn't say it but the bottle shows the .5% if you copy the image and paste into paint you can read it.

I ended up with the Wilson spider concentrate and mixed accordingly to get the right %, I put it on the exterior clothes and coverals and boots that I put on when I get there.

Yes - please be careful it's strong stuff. It has to be to keep away those nasty ticks. I think after its dry on the clothes it's okay, no?

I found a supplier of 1.25% permethrin in Canada. I dilute it down to 0.5% with water and spray it or soak my outdoor clothing in it. It is unscented when dry and seems to work - hard to tell other than I don't ever get any ticks on me. I keep my pants tucked in to my socks and wear long sleeves - both pants and shirt treated.
