This gave the USN a 2-1 exchange ratio with the IJN in terms of ships and aircraft.
I would say that was a bit more than a bloody nose.
You certainly kicked the s out of JAPANESE CIVILIANS, MANAGING TO INCINERATE SOME 800,000 SOULS.
In your more recent wars not a lot of positive news.
Since 2010, more than 65,000 veterans have died by suicide – more than the total number of deaths from combat during the Vietnam War and the operations in Iraq and Afghanistan combined.

Japan BTW is 7% smaller in land mass than California so I would say they did pretty well up against America. So much so that the Yanks were fearful of taking them on in the mainland, Operation Downfall was cancelled in favor of dropping two atomic bombs on mostly civilians.
If I were you Joe I would not be crowing to much about what your country did.
The sneak attack on America at Pearl Harbor was simply a copy of the Sneak attack by the American navy in its attempt to be a colonial power when they attacked the Spanish Fleet of Manila. They stole the Philippines from the
Spanish and then started a war with the Philippino's who wanted their independence and had actually helped the AMERICANS DEFEAT THE SPANISH INLAND.
So Joe when you invade another area of the World, half way around the globe from your own country, things will come back to bite you in the , something the Yank's have failed to learn over the years.
