Yes lots of people are going to ‘smart’ homes with everything connected to wifi, from thermostats to fridges to garage door openers. It’s not for me.
How much longer until gas furnaces are not AVAILABLE for sale or LEGAL to install ? It’s already happening in some larger cities
Not a chance in H E L L I would allow the government or government controlled organization control my house. I have no internet enabled appliances and if I did I would not connect them. Gee what could go wrong.

I recently spent a week in Toronto. The hotel I stayed at had a bunch of charging station out back. There was always a couple vehicles plugged in. Same thing with the hotel next door to this one. If enough people gets hooked, maybe price of gas will drop? I’m not planning on going electric anytime soon. Just bought a new gas truck.
It’s coming. And getting back to electric vehicles….remember when the big cold snap hit Texas 2 years ago, the power grid went down and some people were running their houses off the batteries in their F-150 Lightning’s….part of me wonders if electric vehicles that are all plugged in at home might somehow be regarded as a power reserve to be drawn on in emergencies. Maybe that’s a bit far-fetched yet, but they know there is a coming issue with the capacity of the power grid and are already trying to control thermostats…..Quote:
