cantgetright, you better than me you have found your knife, I had a perfect knife few years back, loved this knife except it was camo. field dressed a deer around noon, laid it down to get rope on deer then never seen knife again. I searched for it for an hour, even went back the next year. No more camo for me, the brighter the better. This go for all things I care as always have camo over everything anyways

I have a Buck 110 that I’ve carried for 55 yrs. It’s skinned and gutted a pile of moose and deer over the years. A few touches with ceramic rods keeps it razor sharp.

I too have a 110 buck knife that I have had for years, lots of times I do use a cheap box cutter.... Seems to do the job well too
-
I've got a grohmann short blade skinner with stag horn handle that i love using while skinning, but over the past few harvests the outdoor edge razor pro for field dressing..

I have owned a few cheap knives in the past 50 years but for the past 25 years what normally goes on my belt is a fixed blade Ruko that I bought from Zellers. I am generally too lazy to go grab other knives so I have cleaned many turkeys, grouse, rabbits, and deer with this Ruko right after getting home from an outing!
Other knives that I own (Buck, Browning, HuntShield...) are still mostly like new because they get carried in the pocket or backpack but never actually get used on fish or game.

Is use a Buck folding knife no complaints

Outdoor Edge, replaceable blade.

I have many I use, my favourite all have S30V steel.
Easy to sharpen and stays sharp for a long time.

My favourite knife the last few years has been a bench made pukko
