May I also ask for advice about shipping.
I'm currently selling the gun through Gunpost and most people want to ship it outside of Ontario.
I've never shipped guns before.
My biggest concern is telling people at the post office that I'm sending a gun... I'm not sure they'll react appropriately.
Any suggestions on that would be appreciated.
You don't have to tell them what you are shipping. You just need to confirm its not dangerous goods (ammo).Quote:

I just found on Canada Post website that
Canadians can send firearms to other adults of legal age. To send firearms, you must open a Solutions for Small Business account and create labels for shipping firearms using the online shipping tool Snap Ship.
I don't have any small business and never dealt with this stuff before...
Is it only the way to ship it?
It's the only way to ship by Canada Post if you want to send it as an insured package. I'm not sure what the rationale was to change the entire system,but,given the current governmental climate in this country,I don't think it's rocket science to figure it out. Firearm tracking is a big deal with them. It may be a good idea to call around to UPS and FedEx,but,the last time I shipped a firearm,they had stopped shipping "known" packages citing licensing issues on "dangerous goods". Setting up a small business account with CP is simple as long as you're comfortable with inputting the personal data that's required.Quote:
