Rust

I really don't care what it stands for. It's all about what it does. I'm just saying. You put it on your gun in the fall. I think your asking for trouble in the spring. For a few lures. I'm sure it's ok and it does have its uses. Don't rely on it is what I'm sayin. It not very good at doing what the can says it does. I know the hard way. It ruined a gun of mine.

Here is from another post i located. There general census is this"WD40 is really more of a temporary lubricant or a cleaner. It works better at removing adhesives or grime than anything else. Although it does displace water I wouldn't try to use it as a rust inhibitor, it wont remain on the sprayed surface long enough."

used by the military to prevent rust.... Guess they know less than you... And the threads is about lures...WD.... Water dispersing.... 40 try's to get it right.... Put the vinegar on your food.

Manufacturers also put those small bags that absorb moisture when packaging electronics for example. I save those and put them in my crank bait tray. They any small amount of moisture I may miss.

Deep Creep is the only thing I use on my guns, works great no silicone to attract dust etc....

I hope you can hear my laughter. I don't care who uses it. I'm just sayin I'm not using it. I wouldn't recommend it as a rust remover, nor preventative. The fact that one group uses it or another does I could care less. I can tell ya. It wouldn't be the first time that decisions were made on a particular topic from bureaucrats that don't know what they are doing. I hear from hunters. They have people in the government making decisions on wildlife and have never been in the woods. Fishery decisions made from an office and have never put a line in the water. The decision to use wd farty was made by someone who don't know diddly. Lol. I think the original posting was asking online friends to share stories or experiences. The fact that wd was used for one purpose or another as the lube to get the probe through the ozone is not important here. In this application of your lures. I wouldn't store them in wd. I would get the rust off and use it to clean. I'm done. Enough time wasted.

I'm assuming you meant. "Hear me laughing". Otherwise it was probably you who made the decision on the military using wd. Lol

I don't believe the military would use wd as a rust preventor in Alert. Maybe in afghan. Where its dustier climate and they don't want to have a thick lube that attracts sand and dust. I think it has it's purposes around the garage. But nothing for hard core jobs. Leave that to the big boys. Ya know. Like gunk and vinegar.
