I agree. If he made a mistake admit it on the video. It's like my friend says, not all monkeys are circus material!

Brisket shot on a Moose? That is not a very high odds shot, couldn't wait until it turned I guess. Then run in the bush. I would say he was lucky to have a guide with him.
That was a "How not to hunt…" video
They could use this video in the hunter training courses...
He learned nothing b/c he said at the end, "that was so cool"
Lol. We had an older lad that used to hunt with us do it to. Emptied the whole tube on his 30-30. He swore he fired every shot. Buck was happy he didn't.
I'm curious as to why its not a good shot. Shot one through the brisket with a crossbow. He went down after he took three steps. If you are hitting him dead center of the brisket you will have a hard time not to hit both lungs and have a good chance of wiping out the arteries at the top of the heart.
Some bolt guns on the bolt being lifted and pulled back, it does not take a full cycle and extraction to those guns. If you have a lee enfield at home you will feel the on close, it is a tough push and makes it harder to cycle a round, this is one of the reasons a lot of guns on the pull back rather than the push forward.
Come now that is not what happened and yes I have a couple of enfields and other bolt guns . This also isn't an enfield and it's a lefty too boot . No doubt in my mind he racked either a dud or air but it was racked . You even see his shoulder move as he points the gun towards the ground and rack the third one .
I didn't think the video was such a big deal . Sheet happens . Just glad it wasn't me that almost got gored . Mind you I would have dropped him with the head on, head shot . LOL
TD
Its one thing to have others think you are an idiot, it is quite another to open your mouth and confirm it. Posting a video is some whole other order of definition that is off the chart stupid.
Why is a Brisket shot not a good shot to take? Too many times you do not hit the vitals Oaknut. Too many places for the bullet to deflect off and out. I grew up in Nfld and hunted and shot a lot of Moose with my Dad watching. He would always say, watch him close, he will turn. Same thing with chasing him, give the animal some time to bleed, chances are he will lay down. Push him and see what happens, you know how much ground a spooked Moose can cover in the 10 mins before he dies.
