My parents used to take me out of elementary school for a day to duck hunt with Dad and his friends ... the teachers and principal of the school called in my parents to give them royal hell for doing this ... Mom defended with "he will learn more in the field than the one day he missed from school" ... after she was done with them, they never bothered us again.
With the laws, many of which are to get more money from us hunters, I am surprised we do not need a hunting license for our retrieving dogs, since they participate in the hunt and often inform us a duck is approaching when we do not see it.
