My insurance company told me the same. You need collision on the atv to cover it while on the trailer.

That makes 2 of us.....
I'd think about dropping the collision if I had a big property and was only going to drive the machine at home. You're taking a big risk trailering anything without collision, and now it doesn't matter who causes the accident, with this no fault deal. It always amazes me when I talk to snowmobilers who aren't carrying a separate collision policy eg. $4500 covered trailer with two $15,000 machines in it. Can you imagine the colour of the dude's face when someone smacks you on the road, and you find out you swallowed a $45K pill. Same deal with boaters. Guys pulling $70,000 bass boats and they think they're covered under the tow vehicle policy. I carry it on anything that goes on the road - horse trailer, box trailer, skidoo trailer, boat trailer. It sucks paying the heavy premium, but sure as crap, the day I drop the coverage will be the day someone smokes me on the road. You folks all need to ask your broker specific questions about trailering, and get it in writing.
on my old quad runner 250 i paid only $125 for liabilty only through "the personal" they insure quads with no other vehicles on the policy... i only have my quad with them, as they were a 1/3 the price of my regular insurance company, but they were a little more for my vehicles and house so only gave them the quads...
my insurance broker told me (in regards to towing my boat) that if it was attached to the truck it was covered under my truck policy... but i dont have that in writing so guess its up to them... either way thats why it has fire and theft on it ;) LOL
