Its actually published out of Iola WI, which is North of most of Ontario's deer country. A latitude about as far north as Algonquin park. People not familiar with US geography seem to forget that the contiguous US goes all the way up to the 49th parallel. If your in eastern or central Ontario, 49N is way up north. Timmins is is south of 49.
Alsheimer's research I based in New York state, not a lot south of southern Ontario and biology articles in D&DH related to northern deer usually have a disclaimer about north of the 45th parallel.
John Ozoga's articles are usually related to the Cusino enclosure which is in Northern Michigan - the climate there is similar to the extreme northern range of white tails in Ontario.
Don't dis the mag too much - its obvious you are not familiar with it. Of all the outdoor mags I've read - it stands head and shoulders above all others - except maybe gundog.
