Well, yesterday's hydro bill worked out to $.21/kWh here in central Ontario. Average kWh/day was 99 compared to 177 last year at this time , but the months bill was larger.

In September, a new 100-megawatt wind power facility started commercial operation, but that same month, 42% of wind power in Ontario’s west region was curtailed (surplus, not added to the grid).
Ontario’s electricity customers paid for that power, anyway.
The government claims to have reduced electricity bills by 25%, but it has done nothing to cut costs by cancelling contracts for unneeded power.
Last month, Ontario’s Environmental Commissioner pointed out that no request to “kill, harm or harass” wildlife had been refused for four years – she cited wind power projects where development actually took precedence over environmental balance.

Between 2006 and 2014, the government received well over 3,100 formal reports of excessive noise and vibration, according to documents provided to Wind Concerns Ontario.
Of those thousands of reports, more than 50% received no response from the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change. Only 1% resulted in a priority response.
Fast forward to today. You'll find the windmill farms in Europe are teetering on the edge of bankruptcy sucking mega-bucks out of government coffers (taxpayers),keeping them afloat purely for the "green" optics just like here in Onatrio. 20k printing signs/banners to be posted around the shop for a Production Improvment Project and they even spelt them wrong and had the wrong dates so had to be scrapped...Crazy uncontrolled unregulated spending cause the Korean owners were making money hand over fist they couldn't keep track of where it all was going....1 project we had they brought over people from Korea and budgeted 80k just for 6 meal outings for maybe 50-100ppl...silly silly spending....roughly produced 1 million worth of sales daily at this facility when it was busy...it was also littered with quality and safety issues. Now that the subsidies are gone and its an open market prices have fallen and the business is declining...at least in this area. They cheated safety and quality to pump out as many towers as they could before the subsidies ran out...once they were gone 3/4 of the plant was let go and their orders are dying off.
HOWEVER.....I have one of these windmills on my hunting property and its a nice big weather vane to show me wind direction and the sound helps cover up any sounds deer may hear...doesnt bother the deer 1 bit actually some of their year round trails are right infront and around it so for that I can be thankful...
My,how wonderfully considerate of Ma Wynne and the Ontario Liberals for spending $50B on cooling fans for the Deer and cattle.
the money that goes into fabricating and "erecting" them is phenomenal...lots of money in them as far as infrastructure goes...All the wind farms are owned by companies like Siemens, GE, Vestas...etc some pretty big names that have been in the business for a while...Quote:

The asian market is over saturated it lasted 14 or so years then trailed off thats why they came here...now North America starts to slow down they go to another country. Always planning where to go next...and lots of lobbying local and international. Local government investments plus subsidies...
