I started (binge) watching it. It is an awesome show. By far the best hunting show around. Producers etc. of other hunting shows should watch and learn.
Some of the things I find to be refreshing are:
he doesn't pretend to be the expert on everything. He tries out some hunts for the first time and fails, just like all of us regular guys.
a lot of his hunts are not successful and seem very challenging, just like all of us regular guys.
no high fives after the kill
good cooking tips
no annoying product discussions/sales tactics
Hey guys, from what I've read Netflix went to meateater to add the show. If its well received they will add more seasons, they've said on social media to leave a review to help get more reasons added to netflix
I have to admit this guys shows are good, he is the real deal. A lot has been said over the years that canadian hunting shows are better than american which is BS as they are all paid advertising.
First his hunts are his hunts, he is a regular guy doing it like a normal hunter not backed by endless sponsor $ And not on some guided trip where someones baited his bear all summer so he can say come to Rocks bear camp to get a free hunt.
I like he cleans and prepares his game in the field and stays in his own tent not some 5 star lodge that cost 2k a day to be at.
What i dont understand though is how he gets to where he hunts without a promo for dodge ram ram boxes and that he might actually walk or paddle to his hinting location without a yamaha UTV...
I even bet if a non hunter watched his shows they would respect it because he is hunting for the meat and the experience not for antlers which you can enter in a hunting shows paid storybook at a chance to be king of the bramblebushes.
Just want to reiterate what brown said. If you're a fan of meateater, and want more make sure you leave a review. Even Steve says that it may lead to more seasons/episodes being put up:

ive been watching his shows for a while... I found it interesting how he eats the hearts out of everything. Do many of you guys do this? I am thinking of trying it with a deer that I will hopefully get this fall. Not sure what to expect, usually we leave the heart with the gut pile for the critters. My wife thinks i'm crazy for wanting to eat deer heart lol.
It's quite tough but mild. Much better than liver IMO.
Ladies and Gents, if you like meateater with Steve Rinella, run a google search on him you will find a podcast you can download and The Wild Within TV show. I think it was Steve's first outdoor show. Unfortunately it only ran for 1 season. I've been watching his shows and reading his books, since 2011. This guy loves to do it old school and truly enjoys "roughin it".
It was an awesome show I just wish they would put the other 4 seasons on lol
My wife would string me up if I shot a deer and didn't bring the heart home. Stuffed with onions and garlic and in the slow cooker with beer, wine or broth, even all three lol. Never tough IMO. I always tell anyone that if they don't want it I'll be more than happy to take it.Quote:
