Very few people aren't unaware that they're trespassing and the so-called language barrier is more often than not nothing more than a quick excuse. The only thing that works for trespassers is a direct involvement with enforcement agencies.
The 2 km road into our camp is posted no trespassing on a bridge and we still get clowns with asinine excuses when they pull into our yard.

"aren't unaware" is a double negative meaning they are aware, so when you say "very few people aren't unaware that they are trespassing" to me it means "very few people are aware".Quote:

If you are a licenced hunter, you are aware of the trespassing laws. It is in the regulations and is taught on the courses I have attended for both myself and my son. The problem is that people think that the "Navigable Waterways" definition allow them access to the land around the water as well. These guys are obviously not in a boat, which is where it truly applies. And for anyone who wants to give me the "high watermark" argument, these guys (or guy and gal as someone suggested) are obviously above that. Plus, that is not an accurate interpretation of the law. Unless you are wading or boating in the water, you are trespassing. And I would agree that their race is irrelevant, a trespasser is a trespasser. I hunt a few properties where the Nith cuts through in Paris and the surrounding area and every guy and their brother parks at the road and walks in. I have found blinds, garbage and even fire pits from these guys who sneak in to hunt and fish. I have had them swim the river to get away from me too. So I agree that we need to involve the CO's. I caught one and the MNR charged him last year for wading the river to hunt on a property I have. So they are happy to do their job.
The farm is posted at the road.. Not at the river. Few years back I had 2 guys float down in a canoe. They got out walk in a few yards and shot at a deer.. Also tried to take a treestand but it was locked. I confronted them and they left and didn't come back. This is probably the same thing

Oh that was not actually my quote but the moderators above mine, I just forgot to put in the quote marks.
However the muse of a few languages is mine and was not mean to be offensive in any manner in fact the opposite, I was just indicating how challenging it is for new comers to Canada where English is not their first language.You probably did not see my Scottish quote where I indicate how even some English is difficult to understand.
"aren't unaware" is my double negative. Sorry Gilroy. I'll put it in simpler English-Most people who trespass darn well know they're trespassing and there likely isn't any language barrier. If so how did they ever pass a drivers licence or a hunting licence? Every HST course I've been involved with covered the issue of trespass. And in Northern Ontario trespass isn't really much of a problem so I can imagine in the south, where it is a problem, trespass would be covered in more depth.
I don't buy the language problem for a second.
