Morels!!

Morels are a pretty safe bet. I'm still alive.

There are false morels. Make sure the cap attaches to the stem at the bottom. False morels have a stem that is surrounded by the cap and only attaches at the very top.

I was visiting a couple at their place last week and she made a dive for the ground exclaiming MORELS,! Came up with a handful of what I know as false morels. I've never tried them but it sounds like they eat them all the time. Has any one else eaten them?
Should have questioned her at the time but they are still around this week so I assume they survived....

you should speak up about it unless you dont like them lol. as mentioned above there is a fairly easy way to tell by cutting them open.

Fried in butter served with steak and potatoes they were fantastic! Makes me upset at not paying attention and running over a bunch with the lawnmower last weekend.

Morels look like gopher brains to me. Still, they are tasty.
