legal alternative for tracking dogs?

If Stuart says they are legal then they are legal. Nobody has done the research he has nor follows the rules like he does.

We will see. Other sources claim it's the same as Garmin.

It is legal, I contacted Marc Corbin of Industry . Here are the results of the Industry Canada search for legal conforming equipment.

I've wasted over two years of my life , trying to get the other system approved, that thousands of houndsmen already use in Canada. It is unfortunate .



Dogtra has the similar features, tracking, utilizes google maps, or whatever you download to your smart phone, has both tone and stimulation, it claims similar performance. It claims tracking of up to 20 dogs. I don't remember the exact frequency, I believe it is 232 mhz. One retailer is going to demonstrate it for houndsmen at a fox hound trial this weekend.

Dogtra Pathfinder works with a smartphone and Google gps maps.

Dogtra states that data is necessary for initially downloading the Pathfinder app but after the app is downloaded no data is needed.

You sure about that ? I've never heard of anyone else getting that kind range with their Garmins in cover & hills.
