Yeah, an arrow can deflect if you don't know how to hunt in a clearing. You can take body shots easily at any angle hunting turkey with archery, plus depending on the velocity of your crossbow you have much more range than even 3.5" turkey load. Try taking a body shot at a turkey (or strutting) further than 30 yards with a shotgun, even then have fun chewing shot with the breast. Plus it helps when I hunt with other people, I don't spook the turkey when I shoot.Quote:

I would very much appreciate if someone could explain what was so terrible about this shot besides saying "you just don't shoot at 70".
Taking a body shot at a turkey??? Why would anybody want to?? I dont need a clearing with a shotgun. Can i ask how long you have been hunting? Also why you go from message board to message board posting about this shot you took. I saw it on another board as well. Are you doing this to promote scorpyd? Im obiously talking about a shotgun. Which is always a head shot and never a body shot (for myself anyways). Think about the size of a shot pattern vs the size of a turkeys head at 30yrds. You cant say a bow is more ethical you need to be dead on and basically shoot a softball for a quick kill. Bowhunting is definitely a challenge though when it comes to turkeys.Quote:
