Not the same as protecting criminals. Quick question...if you knew of someone. ( an otherwise law abiding citizen), who has an illegal unregistered handgun, ( back in the day I knew many who did not register their long guns), would you report it? Give them a heads up, or ignore the criminality? Remember it is those people, ( that everyone complains about), that cast the legal, responsible, gun owners, (us), in a bad light.
