I don’t think it’s accurate to say that Reagan worked to de-escalate things with the Soviets - yes there were treaties signed but I think the Americans outspent the Soviets to the point that their economy was unable to keep pace. The Cold War was won by the American economy, in addition to all the other factors.Quote:
