Carbon Tax increases NOT put on hold

I agree with Gil on the fact that you are closer to being an NDPer , than either of the other major parties with the complete overhaul of our compensation, and housing situation that you want to correct. You can't live downtown, to expensive, move to Whitby, can't live there to expensive, move to Valentia, then complain about it being to expensive there. You are not alone , that is why people move further away , and it has been happening since confederation. My father grew up on Dufferin street, he and his new family could not afford it. He brought us to Scarborough, I could not afford that, so we moved to Pickering. My kids, if they want a house they will have to move to Clarington or Lindsey or Peterborough. It has been that way for multiple generations. Every political party has had a kick at the can. No political party can take the high road.

All these back and forth arguments twisting stats and opinions just to fit personal agendas. About the only item of interest I got from this bash-fest while my eyes glazed over is that Gilroy might own a unicorn.

Good one. J. unicorns. Lol. Anyone can google multiple sites, for data, to back up their claims. It is not the 'most cut and paste' wins the debate. They are all opinions , because anyone could find a contrary site, to back up your point, with the data you want. I enjoy when you can quote a site, ( rebel, Fraser), that some are in favor of. Their 'go to source' refutes their claims, and they are 'hoisted on their own petard'.

Bottom line should we lower our carbon footprint absolutely but at a cost that is harmful to the general public no.

Why have other countries dropped it's footprint with OUT tax it can be done.

And so what if you want to tax it go ahead a reasonable price don't keep jacking it up. Leave it where it is now and use the money to pay for what's needed.

But to rob the public of this is just morally wrong .

Why give it back ?

The tax is supposed to help the government . Yes a little ok. But a huge increase and to say we get it back is just another scam.

Leave it where it is the government needs to learn how to balance the budget .
