The meaning of the comment yes. Lots of people however use expressions without full understanding of their origins. Happens all the time. Doesn't justify it but can often mean there was no malicious intent
Given his track record I have a hard time believing he meant it maliciously
.
Where is the shame for the selfish people who are sick and not staying home, instead just wearing a mask and now it's ok to cough and sneeze all you want. Sad 4 months ago the shame was on anybody sick leaving their home. Now its a-ok, be sick as you want, do as you please go out and about, just wear a mask....
I'm fairly certain you have got that all wrong and twisted up. Nobody has said if you're sick its ok to just wear a mask, nobody maybe except you in that statement alone.
This is the problem with social media, the misinformation thats spread is dangerously irresponsible. Focusing on one or two non compliant holier then thou's on here makes it seem like many people disagree but statistics show anti maskers are a very small minority. Get over your ego or dont, the rest of us dont care, just stay away if you dont have a mask on.
The whole reason for masks is for sick people who are coughing and sneezing. Why not tell us why those sick people are not isolating, instead now it's ok for them to be out in public coughing and sneezing as long as they wear a mask? Stay on the subject, people who are not sick but carriers are not coughing and sneezing in public, big difference.

This is the first time I've heard this take on wearing a mask. I've always understood that everyone should be accommodating enough to wear one regardless of their state of health. And yeah, if you are suffering from a cold or whatever then go that extra step and restrict your shopping or socializing to a minimum. After all what's the big deal to put one on for the short time you're actually in a store shopping.
Dr tam now says it could take years 2 or 3 years before it gets any better and these measures in place could be a new trend for several years. Even with vaccines

People who test positive for COVID-19 are required to isolate under the Public Health and Protection Act in Ontario. It is not "okay" for them to be out in public even if they have a mask.
The reason to wear a mask is to reduce the spread of the virus by people who don't know they have it and are not showing symptoms.
