I'm not a fan of "tax the rich". More often than not, it strikes me as people wanting their cake and wanting others to pay for it. Anybody but me syndrome.
That said, the well off and above have the means, and dozens of ways to reduce their tax loads, as well as shelter. While peons have neither.
Given the times, the state of things. I would not be against eliminating/ limiting/adjusting some or many. Just look at Ontario. The fiscal shape we are in, problems with Hydro, healthcare, creating jobs, and more. And these problems all existed long before 2020. And for those that might say " growth in GDP. Which is more anybody but me.....
1) how's that worked for Ontario since 2008-2010
2) Sunny days last forever.....until they don't...meaning who can promise there won't be another 2008 in the next 12 years.....
Broadly speaking, who voted for the mess.
The well off and rich. Not those that are struggling to put food on the table, pay Hydro, Carbon Taxes, other taxes and fees, and trying to find 2 nickles to save. It's past time they pay for what they wanted. Owned their choices. Tax credits, etc. Are but one way.
