We'd go to the park regularly. She's a pretty lowkey dog, so it was nice to get her out to work on her obedience heeling. One day, a white trash couple came to the park with their Akita, yelled from where they were, "CAN YOU PUT YOUR DOG ON LEAD???" I had her on the flexi but you couldn't see it from that far away. Regardless, I wasn't about to argue, I just put the leather lead on. No sooner had I done that than their dog CHARGED across the park right at us. As it was coming, I could tell it was about to get ugly. I had Burly sit so she wasn't a threat, and stood beside her. The dog charged, jumped on her and I heard her yelp. I pulled her away, and yelled, 'NOW CAN YOU PUT YOUR DOG ON A LEAD?!?" They quickly grabbed it and left. Took Burly home, put her in the tub and found a toothmark in her side. Reported what happened, and we (the neighbours and I) had to keep an eye out for the couple and where they lived so the by-law officer could follow up. I'm a dog lover, I don't think most dogs are inherently bad. But SERIOUSLY, WTF. Bad dog, irresponsible owners. It was a big park, they could have entered it somewhere else. I'm still mad.
