Exactely, I hope that CL actually confronted them, rather than posting pictures on here months later and proposing the idea to have dogs in general leashed on crown land etc.
Any hunter (regardless if they have a dog or not) should understand what that means when a dog is under control and that you don't need to have him on a leash!
There's nothing worse to have people within the hunting community demand restrictions, bans and more stupid rules that don't make any sense. A bit of common sense and enforcing just half the rules we have (e.g. running at large, harassing wildlife, etc.) should be more than enough!

In my area of NWO,the problem is not your dog chasing prey,but becoming prey.
Several dogs have been lost to wolves in the last few years.At least once a week I hear them howling at night.

I bet, but that wasn't what OP. Even in SOnt. a number of pet dogs are taken by coyotes...
To me that's the part where common sense and predetor management comes into place and NOT a province or country wide "safety utopia" regulation to keep every single dog 24h/365d on a leash

Not to be misunderstood,I do not support keeping dogs tied 24/7
I spend 6 mon at the lake,dogs are free,the other 6 mon I spend in a rural area with a large wolf population.

I turned the picture into the C.O. the next day. The property owner was charged for letting his dogs run at large.

Last June a local was fined over $550.00 for her dog running at large. Her dog killed a pregnant doe.

I agree I used the wrong term (leashed). I should have said " run at large".

Well CL do you know how many of these types of threads concerning dogs have been thrashed out on here ? Well lots and they usually go south . You also seem to have all the answers before you even post the thread so why start it ? Are we your guinea pigs here ? Something always seems fishy in your threads .

I respect you guys. I've learned a lot from you posters.

I feel strongly about the dogs that run at large. They are taking down deer more often than what we think. I was sitting in a blind 2 years ago. A deer comes running out of the bush, full tilt. About 35 seconds later here comes 2 dogs out behind it.

The reason there are so many threads on dogs running at large is because maybe it's happening WAY TOO OFTEN!!!

What's the difference between a dog chasing a deer once every blue moon and coyotes and wolf chasing them all year around?!?!
I mean what the chance for a dog (on his own) for catching a deer? Very little so I don't think we should be so worry about it, even so they might screwed up your hunt a couple of time in your life time....

They are killing fawns and running pregnant doe's to the point to where they abort. A dog is domesticated a wolf is not.

Also the dog owner should take full responsibility if his mutt gets caught in a trap.

This was my thought as well.

My Lab, she'll range just about 50m, or within sight of me, and come back. If she ever gets out of sight, all I have to do is a firm "here", and she's at my heel within seconds. What I would consider being under my control.

Now if it were a hound, prone to following its nose? I can see that being a problem.
