I use hevi 13 (not that load) but I pattern my gun regularly, sporting clay skeet and trap shoot (not as much as I used to but 10s of thousands of rounds through the shotti, not many can say that). I always try to maximize the performance of my equipment because that is only fair the the game I pursue and myself, so the above comment may be a little bit of an unresearched generalization me thinks:)
Personally I love the Hevi 13 - the 3" 2oz #6 seems to work best for me in my shotgun. Yes they are not cheap +/- $40 for 5, but man can they pattern. I find it funny that people will spend $$$$ of money on a gun but shoot the crappiest ammo through it.
Anyway here are some of my 40 yrd patterns using this load and a less expensive Winchester 3-1/2" #6 HV. Both will kill a turkey stone dead but $35.00 (US) for 2 years of turkey shells are pretty inexpensive. These targets are both 10" circle shot from exactly 40yds.

im not saying buying expensive loads is bad if you can afford it and it works for you..... however I think there is some guys who do this (overcompensate for under preparing), and those will be the guys who will miss the fact that they are not legal around here.Quote:

The way I see it is that, you only need 1 shell to kill a Turkey, and another (maybe 2) to pattern it. Why not spend top dollar on a great performing load? If you want to just shoot for target, you are obviolsy not going to use the good stuff, so what does it matter the cost? A box of 10 premium turkey loads might last you 3-4 seasons if you just hunt in the spring..... Thats a good deal in my books

A coupla years ago I picked up a few boxes of Remington 4x6 turkey loads. Patterned them then used them for the hunt and was really impressed. The turkeys that where shot with this load couldn't argue one way or the other about the load. Still have some for future use. Can't recall what I paid for them but recall them being fairly reasonable.

I dont get the expensive cost thing guys.
You buy two boxes of five Hevi shot at $17, use part of one to see what pattern you are getting and the remainder goes to hunting use. So you have 10 shells say pattern two of those you are left with 8, that should get you through 4 seasons. So over four seasons of turkey hunting you are spending less than 10 bucks a year in shells.

I saw these the other day and nearly died at the price. But I'm thinking I might pick some up and see how much deader they kill gobblers. Just not sure I see a lot of downrange potential with the 7's, so why include them? At close range, anything should work and pattern shouldn't be an issue.
The box looks pretty though.
