I love the accuracy of the GPS in the S5 and the dust/water proof is nice but I still went with the Lifeproof case for extra protection.

Great battery life and it charges quick as well.

Only thing I don't like with Samsung is that they decided to go away with the removable battery and expandable memory in the S6. I think we will see the S7 bring this back.

I went in to FS with my old Captivate looking to take advantage of the Black Friday deal and walked out with two S5 on Bell (switched from Rogers) as well as two 7" 8GB Tab 4 -- all for a whopping $0.

Also came away with 2x$25 Visa gift cards for joining with Bell so I actually made money that day.

Here's a quick cautionary tale complements of a wonderful yesterday.

If you don't have device protection on 6 our s5 active I would recommend it. Had my phone in my pocket, bent down to mark a road edge and pop. I now have a lovely crack across the screen. Tough phone my butt! My daughter uses my old hero and s3 as frisbees and the screens are intact. I figured surely if I didn't break those screens this MIL spec phone wouldn't require insurance.

I hate being wrong but am getting used to it.

That's unfortunate. Too bad you didn't see all the similar complaints/reviews online before buying it.

My bride has broken every single cell she's owned. She's a bit of a 'tard in this one respect... just no appreciation for the fact that electronics simply cannot take abuse.
She just busted her Sony Xperia - one of the toughest, sports-minded smart phones on the market - and wanted an iPhone 6. I told her straight up that she's nuts and we're not getting her one. It wouldn't last a week in her hands.

Capacity is capacity.

Batteries are not designed to die so that you have to get a new phone but some designs do better with cycles.
All batteries have different life based on charge and discharge cycles, the majority of aftermarket batteries are actually worse than the OEM version.

Yes. Like a damned fool I believed the hype instead of looking online first. I fully understand I am tough on electronics thanks to my job however I have been quite careful with this one. Usually I shake the innards apart within a year or two and I'm OK with that. It was funny when I called Samsung yesterday the rep told me it was the first time she heard of such a thing happening to an active. Lol.

Kind of suiting though as I have to pick op a dozen phones for the employees and they were going to be samsung phones. Not so much anymore. There's a new company out there that warranties their phones for 3 years. Iil go with those. Not like the guys need superphones anyhow. I would think 4.4 kit kat should suffice.

The price of an Otterbox case is money well spent. My BB Z10 is still looking pristine.

Yes I ran the otterbox on my last phone. The whole idea behind this one was not to require one as it has its own built in box.

My 5 year old Curve 9600 is doing just fine, found 2 OEM batteries for $4.96 each as they wanted them gone :). I was given a Z10 and found an Otterbox for it, I think the 9600 will become the hunting phone.

RIM/Blackberry is a company I will support as long as it exists.

bin lucky with my phone, have no case for it, and have dropped it on the concrete floor several times and once into a puddlle, everytime i have picked it up expecting the worse, but hasnt broke yet... knock on wood...

I have the galaxy core ,and get three full days on one charge ,so far I love the phone ,still trying ti learn how to use the GPS and stuff Dutch
