Yup, you're right. We say it so fast it sounds like 2. But really the word we use most with him is a single syllable word ... "No!"

For dogs who hunt at a distance , a name ending in a long vowel is most easily heard - like Bennyyyy, Jayyyyy. A short vowel sound drops off .. like Markkk.
