more bad luck, without words

The forums are not negative- its a different look at a problem the OP has already internalized.
So the perception by the OP's is often that the new view is negative; but that's only because it is from a very different point of reference looking at the same facts in an unemotional way.
Personally, I appreciate feedback that differs from my perspective- it allows for a few "ah ha" moments.

Interesting to see that other opinions think that the frequency of the usage might have been a trigger for the dismissal from the property. Makes sense when you stand back and think about waking up to blasts of gun fire while sleeping in your farmhouse.

seriously? I work full time and have 3 kids, I have no time for a part time job.. we all work, full time and have no time for additional part time jobs to raise the money for buying land or leasing land.. maybe YOU have time to pick up part time jobs here and there , but not everybody does.. in terms of goose hunting, we go 1 or 2 times a season, that's it.. we hardly hunt his land as he normally has soy beans on it, this year he had winter wheat so it's off by the time early goose season starts.. we hardly shoot, so the thought of us "lighting up" the flocks early in the a.m is totally off key.. no welcome has been worn off ( to our knowledge) as they hardly ever go in their bush, they never know we are even there ( like I said in OP, only once in 11 years did we ever park in their property)... what I was saying in my OP was that it sucks to lose a spot after 11 years.. I stated it's because they have an old dog that apparently gets frightened by us being there.. yes I said that the dog loves us and was never afraid of us before, but he's older now, so maybe it's legit.. time will tell when I talk to him, but until you know me, my group don't make such forward comments.. maybe you don't mean to be offensive, but I take it that you are... I don't take kindly to someone telling me to get off my and get a part time job to sport a hobby I can already barely afford or make time for.. people lease land that's fine, I don't look at it as we're hunting and taking advantage of hunting people's land for "free".. as I said, we buy stuff for the farmers/landowners every year... plus, they want the deer and turkey, etc taken care of as they cause a ton of damage to their crops.. also, the bush is never used and sits there vacant.. it's different if they hiked, horse back rode through it, etc..

Well said, some guys are just like that just remember, talk is cheap:) A lot of times talk like the comment you responded to is based on personal experience 9most of us don't even think like that).

I personally think the guy is simply done with having people on his property, people change ya know.... Move on to the next property, this guy is done with you for whatever the reason is, fact is that he owns the land and wants no more hunting. Simple ask in my mind.

People have reasons. Sometimes what they say is true and sometimes it's just an excuse you get. The dog -- mine seven year old was afraid of fireworks this year for the first time ever. Out of nowhere. So maybe it's the truth. Thankfully she still gets thrilled by gunshot.

If the landowner doesn't want you there that's his choice it's more than likely his wife it it's a dog issue.

losing property is just part of hunting, it really sucks when you find out one of the so called hunt TV heroes leased your spot out from under you but what do you expect from someone who paid Inuit guided to herd game to them on snowmobiles and got charged ! They were clever enough to edit out the illegal film from CITR hunt show.

I agree, which is what I think happened here.. I am not really complaining about it, just shocked.. so nobody get me wrong, stuff happens and I respect that.. we have had a great relationship for 11 years and I am not going to push or endanger that.. I want to go let him know I got our stuff out of there, shake his hand and thank him for 11 great years of great hunting and let him know we hunt the neighbors spot still and will do what we can to still keep an eye on his spot ( we've had trespassers in there before) and let him know we appreciate letting us on there to do the one thing we absolutely love to do...

exactly.. I am over it now, was really shocked and kinda hurt by it at first.. but I am a very firm believer that things happen for a reason... I have to stop at 2 spots I have been keeping an eye on for 2 years... hopefully we could land one of them, we will see.. if not, we are still lucky as we have 2 spots from the one landowner and we have 2 crown bushes near us.. one isn't hunted all too often, that I can tell...

yup, you are right, it's a part of hunting.. I have had friends tell me they've lost their spot and never really thought it would happen to us, but it did and now I know the sting of it all... but, life moves on.. we will stop and talk to a few owners on the way from hunting after opening day and see if we can land a new spot... it sucks but life sucks sometimes...lol..
